The Brief
My very own lockdown side hustle with my mate, Nia. Our daughters are best friends and like to wear matching outfits. They are the inspo for our new biz! You'll usually find us at the beach or exploring the mountains here in North Wales. Create a cool mini me outdoor family clothing and accessory brand.
We found that cool, matching, family merch just wasn't massively available, so we decided to risk investing our time and money into designing and creating our own collection of clothing and accessories. Our style is oversized, fresh and edgy. Bringing you style and comfort max 100! A supercharged posi vibe, for you and your tribe.
We knew pretty quickly that Ni+Mi was all about colour pop. We are into pastel colours and bold graphics - the Posi Vibe sweat is a firm fave for us. Our girls love the baby pink Surf Sistas hoodie but the best seller is our Fearless Warrior sweat.
We starting posting sneak peaks of our designs on social media - the first being on International Women's Day. We launched the business after only 3 months! During this time we juggled day jobs, home schooling, lockdown and many, many late nights. We had Covid restrictions limiting us in terms of lifestyle and location photography, but thankfully - living in such a beautiful part of the world - we were able to get some inspiring images that really felt true to the brand we had created. This is home, and we want to strengthen the perception of North Wales and Rhos on Sea being a really exciting place to be. We wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
We started out with a storage unit and a dining table, and in a matter of weeks we had moved to a studio space at View Creative in Rhos - our zen den with sea views. It is a creative hub and a place our girls love to hang out while the Mummies work.
Since we launched Ni+Mi we have been blown away by the amount of orders and response we have received. We started selling-out in hours of going live!
We are so proud of what we have achieved. We haven't outsourced anything - meaning we've learnt new skills and can control the quality and attention to detail of our products. We have done everything ourselves: designing, printing, photography, social media, web... We have to thank our family for their help and support making our dream a reality.
